At Afghan Unique Development Organization (AUDO), we are committed to creating positive, lasting change by empowering women, marginalized communities, and vulnerable groups. Currently, our programs are focused on supporting women-led and grassroots organizations, promoting gender equity, enhancing livelihoods, and providing essential services such as humanitarian aid, mental health support, counselling, and adult literacy programs for women and girls. Through these efforts, we aim to foster social development, economic empowerment, and resilience within the communities we serve. Below are the key areas of our work and some of the major projects we are currently implementing:
Social Development and Gender Equity
AUDO operates a multi-purpose women’s center in Bamiyan province, which provides essential services and skills training for women. This center is designed to empower women by offering a variety of services, including education, livelihood skills training, business management, a kindergarten, a library and research centre, mental health counselling, and a space for community engagement and networking.

Vocational Education & Job Creation
AUDO is implementing a project titled “Training and Development of Business Through Embroidery for Displaced Women.” This project targets internally displaced women (IDPs), providing them with training in embroidery and business management. The initiative helps these women, most of whom are heads of families, generate income, improve their livelihoods, and increase their participation in the market.

Social Development and Women Empowerment
AUDO is running the “Supporting Grassroots and Women-led CSOs and Promoting Social Cohesion in Bamiyan” project. This initiative focuses on providing technical support to 10 women-led Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and offering continuous guidance to these organizations, including assistance with tracking funds and writing grant applications. In addition, the project aims to establish a provincial-level coalition of 11 women-focused CSOs and facilitate monthly sessions for the coalition to discuss key issues and challenges facing women.
The project also organizes 30 community dialogue sessions to foster discussions on potential solutions to women’s challenges and hosts two intensive training sessions on Dispute Resolution and Mediation for community leaders and Ulema (religious scholars).
