For over a decade, Afghan Unique Development Organization (AUDO) has been committed to social development, women’s empowerment, vocational education, humanitarian aid, and building community infrastructure across Afghanistan. Through numerous projects, we have positively impacted thousands of women, returnees, IDPs, marginalized groups, and displaced families, helping them build stronger, more resilient communities.
Our work can be categorized into five key areas:
- Women’s Empowerment and Vocational Education
- Creating Economic Independence for Women
Multi-Purpose Women’s Center | Supported by IRC (UN-Women)
Safe spaces where women receive vocational training, social support, counselling, financial and non-financial aid, and literacy and numeracy education to gain independence.
- Embroidery and Business Training for Displaced Women | Funded by UN-Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF)
Hundreds of displaced women have been equipped with skills and tools to generate their income.
- Afghanistan Job Creation Program (Goldozi) | Funded by FHI 360
Supporting women entrepreneurs in textile and embroidery businesses, helping them enter the market and earn a stable income.
- Advocacy for Women’s Economic Empowerment | Funded by DAI Global (Musharikat Program)
Empowering women to secure better economic opportunities and participate in decision-making spaces.
- Maternal Health and Antenatal Care Awareness | Funded by UNDP
Educating thousands of women and families on safe pregnancy and newborn care.
Impact: Thousands of women have gained economic independence, skills, and information enabling them to support their families and communities.
Why We Must Continue: Many Afghan women still lack access to training and job opportunities. With continued support, we can expand these programs and empower more women.
- Social Development & Advocacy: Fostering Inclusive and Peaceful Communities
- Strengthening Women-Led Grassroots Organizations | Supported by UN Women
Helping local women-led organizations grow by providing leadership training and advocacy support.
- Social Cohesion and Violence Prevention | Funded by EPDO
Encouraging peacebuilding efforts and reducing violence through community dialogue and awareness campaigns.
- Civic Engagement & Outreach Grants | Supported by Counterpart International
Training communities in human rights, women’s political participation, social rights, and civic responsibilities.
Impact: Strengthened community ties, reduced social tensions, and increased women’s participation in governance.
Why We Must Continue: Women must have a strong voice in shaping their communities. Without support, many will be excluded from leadership and decision-making.
- Humanitarian Assistance & Emergency Aid: Providing Urgent Support to the Most Vulnerable
- Humanitarian Aid for the Needy Families | Funded by different organizations
Providing food items, warm clothing, heating materials, and essential supplies to help families survive the hard situation.
- Shelter Support for Returnees | Funded by UNHCR
Building safe housing for families who have returned from abroad or been displaced, helping them reintegrate into their communities.
Impact: Thousands of vulnerable people received critical support, preventing hunger, exposure, and homelessness.
Why We Must Continue: Afghanistan still faces economic crises, natural disasters, and displacement. Without support, thousands will remain without food, shelter, or medical care.
- Community Safety
- Urban Safety & Infrastructure Improvement | Funded by UN-Habitat
Enhancing urban safety and promoting community engagement and ownership.
- Education & Community Infrastructure Development| Building Schools and Safe Learning Spaces
- Girls’ Education & School Construction | Funded by UNHCR
Building schools and raising awareness to increase access to education for girls.
- Community Infrastructure Projects | Funded by UNHCR
Developing roads, clinics, security walls, and school repairs to improve living conditions.
Impact: More Afghan children—especially girls—now have access to education and safer school environments.
Why We Must Continue: Many girls still lack access to education, and communities need better infrastructure for long-term development.
