In response to the restrictive policies since late 2021, AUDO established the Multi-Purpose Women’s Center (MPWC) in Bamyan in April 2022, with support from UN Women and IRC. This women-led space provides vocational training, literacy education, financial aid, counseling, and childcare—empowering hundreds of women to rebuild their lives.
Our Impact So Far
- 400 women gained literacy and numeracy skills
- 350 vulnerable women received financial aid
- 261 women trained in vocational & business skills
- 210 women received mental health counseling (including suicide prevention)
- 850 women accessed our library and research center
- Childcare services allow mothers to participate in training
- Cultural events & advocacy provide women a public voice
The Urgent Need for Support
Funding ends in March 2025. Without renewed support, hundreds of women will lose:
- A safe space for learning and empowerment
- Livelihood programs that create economic independence
- Mental health support for trauma recovery
How You Can Help
With continued funding, AUDO can:
- Keep MPWC open and expand services
- Secure long-term approvals for sustainability
- Launch new training & business programs
